  Type of disorder: Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder. (ADHD)
  Symptoms:
  • Be easily distracted, miss details, forget things, and frequently switch from one activity to another.
  • Have difficulty maintaining focus on one task.
  • Become bored with a task after only a few minutes, unless doing something enjoyable.
  • Not seem to listen when spoken to.
  • Daydream, become easily confused.
  • Have difficulty processing information as quickly and accurately as others.
  • Fidget and squirm in their seats.
  • Talk nonstop.
  • Be constantly in motion.
  • Have difficulty doing quiet tasks or activities.

  Type of disorder: Schizophrenia
  Symptoms:
  • Hallucinations, hearing or seeing imaginary things.
  • Delusions, wildly false beliefs.
  • Paranoia, the fear others are plotting against you.
  • Trouble organizing their thoughts or making logical connections.
  • "Thought blocking," a feeling that thoughts are removed from their head.
  • Repetitive behaviours, such as pacing.
  • Disorganized or catatonic behaviour, and Negative symptoms, such as an inability to feel a range of emotions.
  • Impaired or decreased speech (aphasia).

  Type of disorder: Thought disorder (TD)
  Symptoms:
  • An abrupt stop in the middle of a train of thought; the individual may or may not be able to continue the idea.
  • An inability to answer a question without giving excessive, unnecessary detail
  • Ideas slip off the topic's track on to another which is obliquely related or unrelated.
  • Speech that is unintelligible because, though the individual words are real words, the manner in which they are strung together results in incoherent gibberish
